Membership is Free!

Membership of Bega Valley Shire Library is free and available to all residents and ratepayers of the Bega Valley Shire Council area.

How do I join the library?

After joining online you will need to visit your closest library within 30 days of registering with some identification. Once we verify your identification, you will receive your library membership card and obtain full membership privileges. Your provisional on-line registration will allow you to use library computers and have access to a range of on-line databases. If you fill in the email field on your membership you will receive an email with your temporary member number and password. Alternatively print the acknowledgment page to have a record of your membership details.

Indentification is required

When joining our library, proof of name and residential address are required. Examples of identification are a rates notice, driver's licence or electricity bill. If you are under 16 years of age you will need the I.D. and signature of a parent or guardian to gain borrowing privileges.

Non-residents who are members of another library are eligible to join free of charge. We will ask to see your membership card from the other library and may contact them before we finalise your membership with us.

Membership agreement

I agree to comply with the rules and regulations of this library. I accept full responsibility for materials borrowed and will promptly pay any damages or fines imposed. I will promptly advise the library of any changes to my contact details. I will observe all copyright laws in relation to material borrowed and accessed. I will observe the library's Internet Access Regulations and Code of Conduct.
